Road Rehabilitation Works Ongoing in Ozurgeti Municipality
The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Georgia is implementing rehabilitation works for the 7km length Askana-Mshvidobauri-Bakhvi road in Ozurgeti Municipality. The project is funded by the European Investment Bank and its cost averages GEL 3,751,602.92.
The project envisages rehabilitation of the road pavement, and arrangement of culverts and engineering structures. Traffic islands with curbs and sidewalks will be arranged in the central square, arrangement of the parking lot is envisaged in the church adjacent area, the pavement will get marked and road signs will be installed along the road. Width of the 7 km road is 5,5 m. Currently, there are 35 persons employed at the project site. The works were initiated in September, 2016 and will be completed in Spring of 2017.
Project implementation will to great extent contribute to improvement and facilitation of passenger conveyance between the three villages of Ozurgeti Municipality and stimulate tourism development in the Region.
