Georgia intends to receive financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Regional Development Project III, and to apply part of proceeds for payments under the contract for: Arrangement of Bakuriani Central Trail.
The project area is located in East Georgia, Shida Kartli Region, in the Borjomi municipality, on the northern slope of the Trialeti Range, at an elevation of 1700 meters above sea level. The distance between Tbilisi and Bakuriani is 180km and between Borjomi and Bakuriani it is just 30km. Access to the site is possible via Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze motor road.
The whole path length is 2721.4 meter and the area is 7000.0 m².The project envisages: arranging of 2.5 m wide walking path covered with asphalt and edged with the Basalt stone curbs, which will also serve as a biking track. The bike zone will take 1.2 m width and painted in orange color. The existing drainage pipes must be extended at places and added a pipe-bridge. Will be arranged the expansion (1,2m x 5,0m) of the path in 8 places, for the arrangement of the resting places, with the shades, chairs, lights and dustbins. Project also envisages relocation of 27 existing electric posts and arrangement of 11 new posts.
