Construction of Batonis Tsikhe Museum Under Completion
Second phase of rehabilitation works for one of the most distinguished architectural monuments is close to accomplishement in Telavi. An up-to-date museum accommodating an exhibition space and conference halls is under construction in the Palace adjacent area.
Visitors and tourists will have an opportunity to visit the upgraded Batonis Tsikhe Palace in the near future.
Zurab Alavidze, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, together with the Governor of Kakheti Region and local authorities was visiting the project site undergoing final stage works.
The Project provides for improvement of the museum and King Erekle II Palace areas and arrangement of an open café and amphitheater. The museum building and territory will be fully adapted to the needs of disabled.
The project is backed by the World Bank and its total cost exceeds GEL 6 million.
Second phase of Batonis Tsikhe Palace rehabilitation works carried out by the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia was completed in October of 2016.
