Preparation for Winter Season underway in Bakuriani
Activities for preparation for winter season are actively ongoing in Bakuriani. The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia together with the management of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia and Mountain Resorts was visiting the project site.
Rehabilitation of street pavements and sidewalks and Mitarbi cableway access road, construction of parking lots, design and construction works for Bakuraini by-pass road, arrangement of multifunctional ice arena – this is an incomplete list of projects ongoing and planned in Bakuriani.
These projects will be funded from the state budget and backed by the World Bank and European Investment Bank.
In Maya Tskitishvili’s opinion, major part of works should be completed before winter time.
„We are visiting Bakuriani to discuss in detail all pending issues and plan project activities on site, which are to commence immediately in order to meet winter season in organized manner. There are some complicated projects, for example – the water supply network, where the contractor has abandoned works and this problem should be promptly solved in cooperation with the company management. Every year, with increase of the number of tourists, it is a real challenge for us to maintain the infrastructure in perfect state, so as to ensure an orderly and comfortable environment for guests” - has stated Maya Tskitishvili.
