Wastewater Treatment Plant Construction Works Ongoing in Tskaltubo

The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is implementing wastewater treatment plant construction project in Tskaltubo. The project is backed by Swedish Development Cooperation (SIDA).
Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia is proceeding with project monitoring in Imereti Region. This time, Giorgi Shengelia was visiting Tskaltubo, where he inspected wastetwater treatment plant project site together with local authorities.
At the year-end, Tskaltubo will have a modern biological wastewater treatment plant, which will filter effluent discharging into the river. GEL 8.5 million will be on average disbursed for solving ecological problems in the Region. The named amount is a grant extended by SIDA.
For decades, fecal masses have been discharging into the river. Following project implementation, this unadressed problem will be completely solved.
