Tbilisi-Rustavi Highway under active phase of construction

The Second Section of Tbilisi-Rustavi Highway undergoes construction by the Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia (MRDI). The project implementation is funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and its cost amounts to approximately GEL 119 million. 

Executive Director of MDF Mr. Giorgi Shengelia visited the site and attended commencement of construction works for the 800-meter part of the Second Section. The referenced section represents the industrial zone and distance between the construction site and nearest multi-story houses is 120 meters. 
Tbilisi-Rustavi highway is connected with Azerbaijani border and its modernization is of significant character from the standpoint of transit. Upon finalization of the project the population will be enabled to move in a safe and comfortable manner.
