Rehabilitation of WSS in borough Laituri in progress

Rehabilitation of water supply system (WSS) in borough Laituri of Ozurgeti Municipality undergoes implementation by the Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia (MRDI). The project implementation is funded by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and its cost amounts to GEL 4.7 million.  

Executive Director of MDF Giorgi Shengelia was familiarized with the progress of works on site.  

The project envisages arrangements of the headworks, 4 boreholes and a reservoir. As per the project there is considered also the water network of 35 km to be arranged and water meters to be provided there. Prior to arranging of potable water system in borough Laituri, outdated network had not been in operation and population had had to bring water from the far distance. The project implementation will result in the referenced issue for  the local residents to be solved and 3300 people to be provided with 24/7 water supply schedule.  

The rehabilitation works will be finalized at the end of the current year.
