Giorgi Somkhishvili will manage the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia
The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia has a new Director. Giorgi Somkhishvili was appointed to the post of the Executive Director of the Fund by the Decree of the Prime-Minister of Georgia. Giorgi Somkhishvili has been working in the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia since 2012. He has worked in the capacity of Deputy Executive Director till 2013, after 2013 he has been holding an office of Director’s Adviser. Therefore, he is thoroughly familiar with the structure and operations of the Fund.
In various periods, Giorgi Somkhishvili has occupied a position of Financial Director in several large building companies. He has gained extensive experience of construction project management and monitoring. Lately, he has held a post of Director of the Building Company “Archstudio PM” LTD, and has administered construction projects to the total amount exceeding USD 60 million. Giorgi Somkhishvili was the cofounder and Financial Director of the Company „Wardrop & Alexander” (construction, construction management and monitoring). In the company, he was mainly engaged in tax and fiscal administration, as well as project management issues.
Prior to construction activities, Giorgi Somkhishvili was accupied with accounting, consultancy and auditor’s services in the Company “Alexandre”. In the course of years, he has been working in the capacity of average executives as well as the top managers.
In 1999, Giorgi Somkhishvili founded an accounting firm, which at that time had no analogue in the country. To date, the above-mentioned company constitutes structural part of the Company “Alexandre” and is an acknowledged leader operating in the field of accounting services and fiscal administration in Georgia.
Giorgi Somkhishvili is skilled at preparation of financial statements, development and introduction of fiscal and accounting systems of the company, adoption of construction management, accounting and program systems. He has also been the member of Board of Directors and Employers’ Association of Georgia and the member of the Board of Directors of the European Chamber of Commerce.
In various periods, Giorgi Somkhishvili has been working in the capacity of average executives as well as the top managers in the leading companies operating in the field of construction services.
Giorgi Somkhishvili is fluent in Russian and English. He is experienced in management of computer technologies and office accounting software.
We would like to remind you that the vacant seat of the MDF Executive Director was announced following appointment by the Prime-Minister of the former Director – Elguja Khokrishvili to the post of the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia.
