Biddings Announced for 34 Municipalities under “Renovated Regions” Program
Today, biddings to the amount of GEL 160 million were announced under the “Renovated Regions” State Program launched at the initiative of Prime Minister.
Public biddings announced by the Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia cover all of the thirty four (34) municipalities of West Georgia.
Amount of each of 8 biddings announced equals GEL 20 million.
Design and building complanies revealed as a result of these biddings are to produce urban regeneration designs for the sites, selected by the special committee and perform construction-rehabilitation works stipulated by the same documentation.
In preparation of urban regeneration designs for each given region, its particularities, historic-cultural features and functional purpose of the facility should be taken into consideration.
A specialized committee assigned to determine specific sites and facilities subject to urban regeneration is to start operation over the following week. It will be composed of the representatives of local and central governments and spatial planners.
On April 29, the Municipal Development Fund is to hold an information meeting for potential bidders, i.e. design and building companies.
The „Renovated Regions“ State Program applies to 63 municipalities countrywide and is to finance such projects, as: rehabilitation of significant cultural or historical heritage sites, rehabilitation of administrative centers of municipalities; arrangement of recreational spaces and development of associated tourist infrastructure at recreational parks; construction of public facilities relevant to the municipality; development of design documentation for urban regeneration of towns, resorts and settlements.
Estimated cost of the first stage works under the 4 –year State Program is GEL 500 million.
