Ministry of Infrastructure is implementing new projects in Abastumani

 As part of a regional working visit, the Minister of Infrastructure, Revaz Sokhadze, together with his deputies, the Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund, Beka Urushadze, and representatives of the local government, visited ongoing projects in the town of Abastumani, Adigeni Municipality.

 

In Abastumani, the Municipal Development Fund is implementing several projects with funding from the state budget and financial support from the World Bank. These include the construction of a pedestrian bridge, a bus station, and an open parking area equipped with electric vehicle charging stations; the development of fire safety infrastructure for the forest-park; and the restoration of the mosaic wall near the park. Additionally, the green and blue corridors have been completed, the observatory has been rehabilitated, and a new telescope and dome have been installed. A new kindergarten, built to modern standards and designed for 75 children, has also been constructed.


The facades of residential buildings are being rehabilitated on Abastumani, Rustaveli, Paliashvili, Asatiani, Arazendo, and Agobi streets, along with improvements to the energy efficiency of the buildings.


Several buildings are also undergoing reconstruction and restoration works, which include returning the facades to their original appearance, and restoring balconies, roofs, doors and windows, decorative elements, and stone cladding.


The completion of these ongoing projects in Abastumani will contribute to the modernization of infrastructure, improvement of the scientific and educational environment, preservation of cultural heritage, and the development of tourism.
