Meeting with Teachers and Parents of Akhaltsikhe School
Minister of Infrastructure Revaz Sokhadze, together with the Member of Parliament Anton Obolashvili, Deputy Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund Archil Nikoleishvili, First Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth Giorgi Modebadze, and State Governor of Samtskhe-Javakheti Region Zaal Gelashvili, met with teachers and parents of students of Akhaltsikhe Public School No. 2 at the administration of the State Governor of Samtskhe-Javakheti in the city of Akhaltsikhe.
The main topic of the meeting was the protracted rehabilitation of the school building.
According to the Minister, it has been decided that in the future, the rehabilitation project of the mentioned school and construction/rehabilitation of schools in general, will be implemented by the Municipal Development Fund - under the responsibility of one agency, in order to optimize the processes. Respectively, the process of transferring the school rehabilitation project to the Ministry of Infrastructure has already begun. Preparing rehabilitation documentation and announcing a new tender will require some time, however, the Ministry is taking all measures to announce the tender as soon as possible and to ensure that the works are carried out on time and in high quality.
About 400 students study and 67 teachers teach at Akhaltsikhe Public School No. 2.
