Competition announced for the design of the Tbilisi Philharmonic Hall building rehabilitation

 The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Infrastructure has announced a competition for the detailed design of the Tbilisi State Concert Hall - Philharmonic building complete rehabilitation.

 

The competition is aimed at complete rehabilitation of the building, its adaptation to modern requirements, integration of engineering systems and functional renewal in such a way as to preserve and restore the original architectural appearance of the Philharmonic.

 

The design process includes several stages of works: a detailed rehabilitation design for the monument must be developed and cost estimate documentation must be prepared, a guide to the operation and maintenance of the building must be created; moreover, field supervision must be ensured during the project implementation process.

 

Rehabilitation of the Philharmonic includes: examination of the stage equipment structures and their adaptation to modern technologies; dismantling and replacing existing communications with lightweight, energy-efficient systems; changing the building's layout in accordance with modern standards, including renovation of artists' rooms, modernization of elevators and introduction of security systems. In addition, it is planned to fully adapt the Philharmonic for people with special needs; structural reinforcement and restoration of the building's facade, roof, attic and stage; installation of acoustic systems and functional improvement of the hall; modernization of the decoration room and technical spaces; complete renovation of water supply, sewage, heating-cooling and ventilation systems.

 

After project completion, the Philharmonic will once again become a multifunctional cultural space, hosting large-scale local and international events.

The Municipal Development Fund calls on interested architects and organizations to participate in the competition and share their experience and vision for the successful implementation of the historic project.
