Timely and high-quality implementation of construction and rehabilitation works on the monument of Ilia Chavchavadze is a matter of priority for the Government of Georgia. Implementation of the project will assist in development of local, community and tourist infrastructures in Mtskheta municipality.

Accordingly, all the parameters providing fully-featured and high-quality implementation of rehabilitation will be fully observed.
By request of the Fund, the project group has already developed the project for rehabilitation of Ilia Chavchavadze’s monument. The project company had 75 days’ period for project development, and the 4-month term is provided for the construction works. It is worth noting that for years numerous campaigns have been held seeking rehabilitation of Ilia Chavchavadze’s monument. Though, rehabilitation of the monument has not been an issue on the agenda. The Government of Georgia commissioned the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia to implement the project specifically considering the significance of the issue. For 2 months the project company had worked on the project for rehabilitation of the monument. Now, the construction works have started that will result in the full rehabilitation of Ilia Chavchavadze’s monument and the problem that has existed for years will be solved.
