February 20, 2026
The design for infrastructural upgrade of the coastlines of Anaklia and Ganmukhuri has begun. The project envisages the creation of a completely renovated, multifunctional, and accessible recreational space, covering an area of 66.5 hectares.
The coastline will be divided into functional zones, and there will be arranged the spaces for children, educational and cultural zones, sports and recreational areas, as well as pedestrian paths and bike lanes. The existing structures are to be rehabilitated, open stage and decorative lake are to be arranged, and the pedestrian path to connect Anaklia with Ganmukhuri is to be upgraded.
The project includes the installation of modern engineering infrastructure – lighting, irrigation, water supply and drainage systems, site landscaping with local plant species, and compliance with environmental standards.
The design is being elaborated/processed by “New Construction Capital” Company, winner of the architectural competition, announced by Municipal Development Fund (MDF).
The Minister of Infrastructure, together with the Executive Director of MDF, and representatives of local authorities, discussed the details related to the project and further stages of the work execution on site.
