The Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of the Ministry of Infrastructure is to begin the rehabilitation of public schools in high-mountainous villages of Tsalka.

The rehabilitation of public schools will be carried out in Gantiadi and Bareti Villages within the project as follows: “Public Schools in Remote Mountainous Areas in Georgia”, financed by the Nordic Environmental Finance Corporation (NEFCO).

The relevant Contract has been signed with the competition winner company, with a total period of 72 weeks for the provision of the service and completion of works.

Bareti Village Public School is designed for 340 students, while the number of Gantiani Village Public school students is 350.

The project envisages creation of a modern and environmentally friendly environment at schools, improve energy efficiency, and introduce renewable, alternative energy sources.

As a result of that, energy consumption, CO2 emissions, and operational and maintenance costs of Gantiadi and Bereti Schools will be significantly decreased.

Moreover, the project provides for the reinforcing works for both schools to be carried out.
