According to the Survey Conducted by IDFI, the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia was Ranked as the Most Transparent Legal Entity of Public Law
As a result of the survey conducted by the IDFI, which was aimed at checking transparency of the LEPL-s and entities in charge in terms of accessibility of public information within the period of 2013-2014, the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia, operating under the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Georgia has been ranked as the most transparent entity. By rating of the Institute, within the survey period, the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia has demonstrated a 100% index of information accessibility.
Within the period of 2013-July, 2014 the Institute has conducted monitoring of 61 LEPL-s and entities in charge. Findings of the IDFI survey reveal that out of 61 entities, the most transparent ones are those operating under the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Georgia. In particular, the highest index of information accessibility (96,25%) was manifested by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development subordinate organizations. In terms of transparency, the entities operating under the Ministry of Education and Sciences of Georgia (95,56%) and the Minsitry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia (94,53%) were ranked as the second and third ones, respectively.
In the process of the survey, the Institute sent 67 request in all to the following 4 entities under the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Georgia: the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia, the Eurasian Transport Corridor Investment Center, the Vano Khukhunaishvili Center for Effective Governance System and Territorial Arrangement Reform and the Roads Department of Georgia. Three entities under the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development provided comprehensive response to all of the requests keeping a 10 day term.
It is notable that according to the survey conducted by the IDFI in May, 2013, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Georgia itself has demonstrated a 100% index of information accessibility.
We would also like to remind you that on September 12, 2013, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Georgia was nominated by the IDFI as one of the most transparent institutions and was awarded a special prize “For Ensuring Accessibility to Public Information in 2012-2013”.
In December of the past year, the Ministry has also been awarded by the Regional Broadcasters Association for publicity of information.
