Living conditions improved for 10 338 IDP
Living conditions have been improved for thousands of IDP families living in cottage settlement. By USAID financial support MDF implemented drainage rehabilitation and water supply and sanitary facilities improvement works in 10 cottage settlements. 5 villages were gasified; in addition water supply system was rehabilitated in 9 cottage settlement, drainage system was cleaned and drainage channels were arranged. As a result of project implementation living conditions improved for 10 338 members of 3 446 IDP families. Total cost of the works consisted of GEL 22,976,000.
Today USA ambassador in Georgia Richard Norland, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Davit Shavliashvili , minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accomodation and Refugees of Georgia Sozar Subari, Minister of Ministry of Agriculture and Shida Kartli governor, local government representatives and USAID mission director Stephan Haiki visited implemented works in village Shavshvebi.
Within the framework of the project drainage system were cleaned and channels were arraigned in the following 5 cottage settlement: Skra, Akhalsopeli, Teliani, Tsilkani, and Phezeti. Water supply system was rehabilitated, additional pumping stations were installed and existing pumping station was rehabilitated in the following 9 cottage settlement: Berbuki, Khurvaleti, Skra, Shavshvebi, Karaleti, Akhalsopeli, Mokhisi, Metekhi and Tsilkani. Following 5 cottage settlement were gasified: Teliani, Akhalsopeli, Mokhisi, Khurvaleti, and Skra, in particular gas mainline and internal networks were streamlined. Besides this by USAID financial support MDF purchased following machinery for Georgian United Systems of Melioration Company with cost of GEL 551 thousand: Excavator, two tractors, two pickup type vehicle and two SUVs.
Bathrooms and toilets were constructed in 300 cottages of village Prezeti. In village Shavshvebi, Akhalsopeli and Teliani sewerage network and waste water treatment unit were also arranged, in total bathrooms and toilets were constructed in 331 cottages and gas mainline and internal network was arranged.
In 458 cottages of villages Mokhisi and Tsilkani bathrooms and toilets were also constructed, sewerage network and treatment unit, gas mainline and internal network were arranged. Also in villages Berbukuki, Metekhi, Skra and Khurvaleti individual water supply was arranged in 394 cottages, fat traps were arranged for kitchen outflowing water, gas mainline and internal network was arranged.
By USAID financial support MDF implements different infrastructural projects for improving living conditions of IDP families in different municipalities.
