Municipal Development Fund at the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia implements road rehabilitation project in the village Shalauri in Telavi municipality. The First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Ilia Darchiashvili inspected ongoing works. Rehabilitation of 1 km long access road to the Shalauri wine cellar is being implemented within the frameworks of the private and public sector partnership, by financial support of the World Bank. In parallel with a road rehabilitation, new drainage network will be arranged.

By World Bank financing construction waste landfill cleaning- recovery works are implemented by Municipal Development fund of Georgia in village Vardisubani located at town Telavi entrance. Total cost of the works amounts to GEL1 580 210, 57. Existing landfill was harmful to local population health and threatened ecology. Adjacent territory was entirely polluted. Since recovery –cleaning of the landfill ecological threat will be totally eliminated. 25 workmen is hired on civil works. Mentioned works were visited by MDF executive director Juansher Burchuladze and first deputy minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Ilia Darchiashvili.

By EIB financing Municipal Development Fund of Georgia in town Signagi implements water supply system rehabilitation. Cost of the project consists of GEL 1,342,388. As a result of project implementation Signagi population in particular more than 900 families will be provided with 24 hour water supply. Currently more than half of Signagi population about 600 families are provided with 2 hour water supply per 24 hour, and 300 families with 8 hour water supply per 24 hour. As a result of project implementation water quality will be improved and water loss will be reduced.

The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is implementing rehabilitation works for Batonistsikhe ‘Castle’. The First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili together with the Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia, Juansher Burchuladze were visiting the project site. Concurrently with ‘Batonistsikhe’ rehabilitation, the MDF has already announced a bidding on ‘Batonistsikhe’ museum rehabilitation works. The Regional Development Project is backed by the World Bank and Government of Georgia and its cost amounts to GEL 1,573,000. The project is mainly aimed at preserving original appearance of the monument, besides the project is focused on development of cultural heritage circuits and tourism in Kakheti Region.

Today the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia –LEPL of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has commenced construction of the“University“ metro station. Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Nodar Javakhishvili, Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia, Juansher Burchuladze, Mayor of the City Davit Narmania and representatives of the Asian Development Bank launched construction Works and briefed the public on the project. A new metro station from Vazha-Pshavela Avenue to the metro station “University” will be constructed under the project. Moreover, as a result of project implementation the second tunnel will become operational between Delisi and Vazha-Pshavela metro stations. The project implementing agency is the Municipal Development Fund, and it is funded by the Asian Development Bank, total project cost amounts to GEL 83,000,670.45. Construction works will be completed in a 24-month period following their commencement.

MDF implements rehabilitation of houses entitled as cultural heritage. Works are financed by government of Georgia and World Bank. Cost of the works amounts to GEL 1,344.102.47. Aim of the project is to maintain original appearance of cultural heritage ancient houses, in particular fortress type residential houses having unique architecture. Furthermore touring infrastructure will be arranged within the framework of the project. It is significant that since project finalization social conditions of Kakheti population will be improved and village Dartlo will become even more attractive place for visitors.

MDF will be managed by Juansher Burchuladze. Based on prime minister Order N287 dated July 14, 2015 he was appointed MDF executive director. Juansher Burchuladze has been working for MDF since May 2015 and was occupying position of the first deputy executive director; accordingly he is quite familiar with projects and activities of the ministry and its sub organizations.

MDF executive director Ilia Darchiashvili participated in seminar arranged by initiative of “Policy and Management Consulting Group” and “Visegrad International Fund”. Two day seminar was dedicated to discussion of EU harmonization process effective implementation. Within the framework of the seminar Visegrad countries experience (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary) accumulated from effective dialogue making process between public and private sector was shared to Georgia and Moldova. In his term MDF executive director shared experience obtained by the Fund in this field to different country representatives.

Municipal Development Fund of the ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia implements construction of pitcher school workshop in village Ikalto. Today capsule was inserted in the territory foreseen for “Kvevri Sakhli” construction, and Alaverdi monastery metropolitan bishop sanctified foundation of construction site. Pitcher school workshop will be constructed near Ikalto monastery, cost of construction consists of GEL 2 290366,37 .
Construction is implemented by World Bank financial support. Aim of the project is to recover old traditional methods of pitcher production and to develop historical cultural touring recreational educational functions of village Ikalto.

Under the initiative of prime minister of Georgia construction of 320 room dormitory on Lisi lake territory is in progress. MDF executive director Ilia Darchiashvili visited progress of works. Implementation of the project will improve educational and living conditions of socially vulnerable students living in occupied territories and in different municipalities. Construction of dormitory is in compliance with international standards. It also worth mentioned that civil works are implemented outstrip.
