The First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia – Giorgi Amashukeli, together with the Director of Solid Waste Management Company of Georgia – Giorgi Shukhoshvili and the Director of the United Water Supply Company of Georgia – Archil Tsabutashvili are on official visit to Germany. Amashukeli, Shukhoshvili and Tsabutashvili are participating in the international conference dedicated to “Sustainable Urban Transport Development in South Caucasus”. Mayor of Tbilisi City Davit Narmania is also taking part in this conference.

In Oni municipality one project of water infrastructure was successfully finalized and second project will be launched. As a result of the first project implementation, population of town Oni is already supplied with high quality drinking water. The project executed by MDF has solved problem which Oni population was concerned about for years. Currently MDF and United Water Company of Georgia by European Investment Bank funding is launching second stage of water infrastructural development.

Within the framework of third regional development project in Mtskheta- Mtianeti and Samtskhe -Javakheti new infrastructural projects implementation is planned. Regarding commencement of the mentioned project MDF Executive Director Mr. Giorgi Amashukeli, First Deputy Director Ilia Darchiashvili and World Bank representatives held meeting with local government and governor in Mtskheta and Akhaltsikhe, on the meeting proposed projects were discussed.

Today MDF executive director Giorgi Amashukeli and deputy directors Mr. Ilia Darchiashvili and Mr. Tornike Toradze held meeting with adviser to Ambassador of China on trade and economic issues Mr. Lui Po.
Ongoing projects and future plans were discussed on a meeting; parties have expressed desire for future cooperation.

Tbilisi-Rustavi highway construction works are ongoing in full scale. Today the Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia - Giorgi Amashukeli, his Deputy - Tornike Toradze, Vice-Speaker and Majority Deputy of Rustavi - Zviad Dzidziguri, Mayor of Rustavi City - Davit Jikia, and Head of Tbilisi City Improvement Service - Avtandil Sudadze were visiting works ongoing on Tbilisi-Rustavi highway Ponichala-Rustavi section. The authorities entered into conversation with people employed at the project site and obtained detailed information on the progress of works. After project completion, trip from Tbilisi to Rustavi will take 15 minutes and conveyance will become the most safe and convenient.

Today, under Kakheti Regional Development Project, the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia – Davit Shavliashvili, Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia - Giorgi Amashukeli, representatives of the World Bank and Metropolitan Bishop of Alaverdi Monastery – Davit Makharadze held presentation of the “Matsvnis Sakhli” in Alaverdi.

MDF executive director Giorgi Amashukeli ,deputy executive director Tornike Toradze and World Bank representative in South Caucasus -sustainable development sector leader Ahmed Aiveida visited Tskaltubo for ongoing works monitoring purpose.

Today Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Davit Shavliashvili and first deputy minister, MDF executive director Giorgi Amashukeli held meeting with ADB mission representatives. Issues regarding infrastructural projects which are implemented by Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia with ADB financial support, ongoing works within the framework of sustainable urban transport development investment program, new metro station construction in Tbilisi, bank protection works Anaklia and other significant issues were discussed on a meeting.

Village Dartlo has cultural heritage status. Based on a carried out survey in village Dartlo it was revealed that oldest houses require rehabilitation. Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, MDF in cooperation with National Agency for Cultural Heritage of Georgia have launched Dartlo rehabilitation project. On July 31 in Radisson was held presentation concerning Mutso, Dartlo,Chajhashi rehabilitation projects and Vardzia rescue urgent program.

MDF executive director Giorgi Amashukeli visited Tbilisi-Rustavi highway construction process. Detailed information was provided to Mr. Amashukeli by winner company ”Sinohidro Corporation Limited” and supervision company “ Dohva” representatives.
