Davit Narmania and Tornike Toradze Held a Meeting with the Governor of Imereti Region and Representatives of the Local Government

The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia continues meetings with representatives of Local Governments in the regions. Davit Narmania and Deputy Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia Tornike Toradze were visiting Imereti Region, where they met with the Governor of Imereti – Zaza Meparishvili and local authorities. At the working meeting the Ministers and Heads of entities in charge briefed the Governor, Gamgebelis and Sakrebulo Chairmans on infrastructural projects to be implemented in 2014 by the Ministry in the region.

Davit Narmania and Elguja Khokrishvili Met Representatives of Asian Development Bank

The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Davit Narmania and Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia Elguja Khokrishvili met with representatives of Asian Development Bank. At the meeting the parties discussed progress of infrastructural projects funded under the Sustainable Urban Transport Investment Program (SUTIP).

Regional Development Commission reviewed more than a hundred projects

At Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure the regular session of the Government Commission on Regional Development was held. The members of the commission have reviewed more then 100 projects from the fund of the projects to be implemented in the regions of Georgia for 2014.

The new roads will run through Arkhoti and Shkmeri

MDF will cut the new auto road in Arkhoti with length 25 – kilometer. The road will connect both – Northern (“thither”) and Southern (“hither”) Khevsureti to each other. Construction will begin in spring 2014. So far there’s only walking path here, and the locals who have left this region because lack of the road, can’t access theirs homes. Already 32 families have expressed their readiness to return the home after finishing road construction.

A meeting with representatives of the “International Consulting Center” from United Arab Emirates was held in the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia. The meeting was attended by the Minister Davit Narmania, Deputy Ministers – Giorgi Solomonia and Giorgi Amashukeli, Chairman of Tbilisi Sakrebulo Irakli Shikhiashvili, Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia Elguja Khokrishvili and his Deputy Teimuraz Murgulia, representatives of the Road Department and Tbilisi Sakrebulo.

Annual Report of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure – 2013

2013 was a year of challenges for the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure. Despite the problems and difficulties that the Ministry inherited from the previous government, the Ministry handled them successfully. We had to re-examine various projects and forward more than 10 cases to the law enforcement bodies. The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia has Completed Rehabilitation of 4 Apartment Buildings for the IDP-s in Zestaponi

Today, the Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia, Mr. Davit Darakhvelidze and his Deputy, Mr. Mamuka Tsotniashvili, the First Deputy Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia, Mr. Teimuraz Murgulia, and the Director of the USAID Mr. Steven Heiken presented keys of apartments to 134 IDP families in Zestaponi.
